The Vancouver Canucks have signed Forward Elias Pettersson to an eight-year contract extension, the team announced.

Pettersson will make $11.6 million yearly, adding to 92.8 million, reported first by Frank Seravalli of 'Daily Faceoff'. Prior reports earlier in the week linked Pettersson with a potential move to the Carolina Hurricanes that was considered, but the Canucks now look poised to keep Pettersson long-term in Vancouver.
«This is a very exciting day for me and my family. I am very happy to be continuing my career as a member of the Vancouver Canucks. I love this city and playing in front of the fans. We have an exciting group and believe we can do good things in the future. Both Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin have done a great job in building this team and creating a culture, along with Rick Tocchet. And lastly I want to thank the Aquilini family for this opportunity.» - Elias Pettersson (via David Pagnotta)
Pettersson, 25, has 29 Goals, 46 Assists & 75 Points in 62 games for the Cabucks this season. In six seasons with Vancouver, Pettersson has a career 165 Goals, 233 Assists & 398 Points in 387 Games. Pettersson is a four-time NHL All-Star and won the Calder Trophy for top rookie in 2019.
