Since last night, the hockey community is mourning the loss of two former NCAA players following a horrible crime.

In a recent report, we learned the heartbreaking news that the two former student-athletes were victims of a violent act in Miami.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the deaths of Sidney Capolino (23) and Meghan Moore (25), both alumni of New England College's NCAA Division III hockey team.

Former NCAA players Meghan Moore and Sidney Capolino pass away after a senseless crime.

Both Meghan Moore, 25, and Sidney Capolino, 23, passed away recently. The assailant has been identified as Luis Napoles, a 40-year-old man who stalked Moore for quite a while.
In fact, the police thought that Napoles was Moore's boyfriend, but her friends and family has no doubts: he was stalking her, in a desperate move to get into her life.
Here's a troubling statement from Caroline Spat, a friend of the victim:
"They were not boyfriend and girlfriend. I know the, you know, a ton of articles are saying that, that's in the headlines, Spalt told NBC. That's completely false. And, you know, I am 1,000 percent sure. I think I know, I talk to her every day."

She added: "You know he quickly became obsessive and he tried to insert himself into her life and she would keep her distance and he would continue to harass her. He would call her on made up numbers, not just 10 times, but hundreds of times."
Let's hope we'll catch a break soon.
