LA Kings captain Anze Kopitar, who has won two Stanley Cups with the team and practically grown up with them, has broken his silence on his future plans. As his contract is set to expire next season, Kopitar has expressed his desire to remain a "one-franchise player," hoping to retire with the Kings.

In fact, Kopitar has expressed his interest in discussing a contract extension with the Kings during the off-season when he becomes eligible for one. As LA's retooling efforts appear to be paying off, it remains to be seen how the 36-year-old Kopitar will fit into the team's future plans.
Despite his age, Kopitar is undeniably a remarkable player and is all but certain to have his number retired by the Kings in the future. It would be great if he were willing to take a significant pay cut to win another Stanley Cup with his team!
