The 2024 NHL Draft was well received by everyone in the sport, but for some reason, UFC Dana White has called out Gary Bettman and the event.
Over the past few years, Gary Bettman has been on the receiving end of plenty of well-deserved criticism from NHL fans, but the 2024 NHL Draft was one of the best events in recent memory. Their use of the sphere combined with the dramatic trades and unpredictable picks made it a fantastic event to watch in the Sphere and at home, gaining rave reviews.
However, UFC President Dana White was asked about the event, and inexplicably he called out Gary Bettman and the NHL, claiming the UFC will do much more with the environment.
What I did see was how they did the, you know, the rankings, when the draft thing went all the way up. That's going to be like kids playing with f**king crayons compared to what we're going to do.
It's unclear exactly where White's beef with the NHL started, but this isn't the first time he's publicly called them out, and while Bettman often deserves criticism, this definitely isn't the time for it.
