The NHL has come a long way in player safety over the years, but it's not enough according to one agent who has called out Gary Bettman.

Unfortunately, in leagues such as the NHL and the NFL, the rising cases of CTE in former players has been alarming, and now, one agent has targeted Gary Bettman with criticism. On social media, Allan Walsh took a shot at the NHL's Commissioner for his lack of awareness and education surrounding CTE after it was revealed that Greg Johnson, a 14-year NHLer suffered from the disease due to repeated head trauma in the league.

Johnson's daugher has now addressed the situation, as it was revealed five years after his tragic passing that he had CTE, something that is becoming much more commonplace in former players today.
«I had no idea what CTE even stood for when my dad took his life,» Carson said in a statement released by the Boston-based Concussion Legacy Foundation. «Now understanding that the hits he endured throughout his hockey career damaged his brain, I want all athletes to understand the risks and I want the NHL to start acknowledging it exists and do more to protect its players so other daughters don't have to lose their fathers.»

With all of the information about CTE out there, the hope is that the NHL begin addressing it with education and safety precautions, but for now, that hasn't yet been the case.
