At the board of governs meetings, the NHL announced four new rules set to take effect for the 2024-25 season.

This year's changes aim to refine various aspects of the prestigious league we all love. Here are the details:
1.Expansion of coach's challenge for puck-over-glass (only to challenge a called penalty, not to put one on the board).

2.Attacking players now get warned instead of removed from face off following an icing call.

3.Inadvertently knocking the net off rule (64.A iv)will now also apply to goalies (if they or anyone on the team does it, attacking team gets to choose face off location in o-zone and defending team can't change).

4.Rule 75.3 instituted for unsportsmanlike conduct-offending team will be first warned (and then penalized if they didn't heed the warning) for players hanging over the boards prior to a line change.
The main takeaway here is more opportunity for video review.
Oh boy, more video reviews! So fun!
Also number 3 in which it mentions that goalies will be punished after intentionally moving the net. As Matt Murray did for the Maple Leafs earlier on this year.
These tweaks might not be game-changers, but they show the league's commitment to keeping play fair and exciting.
