The handshake line is an essential tradition in NHL playoffs, symbolizing sportsmanship and respect among players. However, in a recent encounter between the Edmonton Oilers and the Vegas Golden Knights, Leon Draisaitl of the Oilers decided to break away from this tradition.

In a video circulating online, you can witness the customary handshake between Alex Pietrangelo and the Oilers' players. Pietrangelo graciously exchanged words and handshakes with each member of the opposing team. But when he approached Draisaitl, things took a different turn.
Draisaitl, the talented German forward, briefly made contact with Pietrangelo's hand, only to forcefully push it away without even bothering to meet his gaze. This blatant act of disregard stemmed from a previous incident involving Pietrangelo slashing Draisaitl during the closing minutes of Game 4, just as Draisaitl was about to secure an open-net goal.
The repercussions were swift, as Pietrangelo faced a suspension, rendering him ineligible to play in Game 5. While emotions often run high during intense playoff series, it's disappointing to witness such a lack of sportsmanship, particularly in a moment intended to foster respect among adversaries.
