Tonight reports are confirming the return of a well-known veteran to the NHL. The player will be heading out to the Western Conference to bolster a contender's lineup.

NHL Veteran Returns To The NHL And Signs With A Contender

A new report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that forward Zach Parise is returning to the NHL. Parise had been a free agent this season after spending two seasons with the New York Islanders. Parise will now head out West to play with the Colorado Avalanche.
Hearing Zach Parise is getting close to resuming his NHL career -- in Colorado. @RussoHockey had mentioned the possibility this week.
After the report from Friedman came out the Avalanche confirmed the deal themselves. Parise will come in on a one-year deal and join the team in the coming days.
Parise isn't the star he used to be but will be a useful depth player on an Avalanche team chasing a championship. Parise will be looking to land his first Stanley Cup this season with the Avalanche.
