Last night one QMJHL game was ended early after St. John's Seadogs head coach Travis Crickard collapsed behind the bench. He was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. Today, the team gave an update on his status.
Travis collapsed behind the Seadogs' bench less than a minute into the 3rd period in the team's match against the Cape Breton Eagles last night. He was quickly taken out of the arena and to a local hospital via ambulance. Meanwhile, the game was called early. The Eagles were up 6-0, making a comeback extremely unlikely for St. John's anyways.
This morning, the team released a statement on X, giving us an update on Crickard's status. Thankfully, the coach has been released from the hospital and is now resting with his family at home.
The DailyHockeyDose family is relieved to hear that Crickard is okay and doing well. Our thoughts remain with him, his family, and the St. John's Seadogs during this difficult time.
