The Nashville Predators and GM Barry Trotz have acquired forward Ozzy Wiesblatt from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Egor Afanasyev who will be joining GM Mike Grier's squad.

Wiesblatt, who's 22, finished the 2023-24 season with Milwaukee Admirals from the San Jose Barracuda, the Sharks' AHL team.

He racked up six points (1 goal and 5 assists) in 16 regular-season games and was a key player during Milwaukee's run to the Western Conference Final, adding nine points (2 goals and 7 assists) in 15 playoff games. Before his time with the Admirals, Wiesblatt put up 3 goals and 11 points in 34 games with the Barracuda.
Egor Afanasyev moved to SJS for Ozzy Wiessblat. #Preds  I know Karl Taylor & his staff were high on Ozzy's game since he was loaned to Milwaukee. Wiessblat was picked 31st overall in 2020 & now has a fresh start.
Drafted 31st overall by San Jose in the 2020 NHL Draft, Wiesblatt has played 101 AHL games, tallying 12 goals and 35 points.
Sharks trade Goodrow to Tampa for 1st round pick. #SJSharks  use that 1st round pick to select Ozzy Wiesblatt.

Before going pro, Wiesblatt was a standout with the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders, helping them win a league title in 2018-19. He posted 58 goals and 179 points in 195 games and served as an alternate captain in his last two seasons. He also represented Canada at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, bringing home a silver medal.
