On a night where all 32 teams will be in action for the NHL's Frozen Frenzy, we may be headed towards drama for the NHL, as one of those games may need to be cancelled.
Power outage
According to Frank Seravalli, there is a major power outage at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, which was supposed to be the host of Anaheim vs. Columbus tonight.
Sounds like #CBJ and #NHLDucks are aiming for an 8:30pm ET puck drop with the power outage currently affecting Nationwide Arena in Columbus.
Originally scheduled for 6:30pm ET as part of 16-game staggered schedule.
The game has already been delayed until 8.30 ET, but if it can't be fixed before then, it appears as though it may be postponed until a future date, which wouldn't be good for the league.
An intriguing decision
While neither team is a big market squad with elite players, this could still have been a fun matchup highlighted by the likes of Trevor Zegras and Johnny Gaudreau, and for a night that's going to keep up with highlights, it would be tough for the league to cancel this one.
