the Anaheim Ducks have high hopes for the upcoming season, as they are building around one of the NHL's strongest young cores, but at practice, one of those key players went down. During a regular rush at practice, it has been reported that Trevor Zegras was taken off the ice after taking a puck to the face, with no current update on his status.
This is a brutal string of bad luck for Zegras, who dealt with injuries all of last season, playing in just 31 games after competing in 81 the season prior with Anaheim. His toughness and durability have since been questioned, but unfortunately this is just something that you can't help from happening, as it was a bit of very bad luck for the 23-year old who was once on track to be a massive star in the NHL.
It's unclear where the puck struck Zegras and what the recovery time will be to get him back on the ice, but given his abilities and his can't miss skillset on the ice, we hope he's back in time for the season to begin in three weeks.
