Coyotes Forward Facing Potential Massive Suspension After Incredibly Dirty Hit Against the Florida Panthers

You might not think that the Florida Panthers and the Arizona Coyotes have much of a heated rivalry, and in most games, you'd likely be right. That might not be the case anymore, though, as last night's game between the two teams got physical pretty quickly after Jason Zucker delivered a dirty hit to Nick Cousins.

During the play in the second period, Zucker delivered a hit from behind to Cousins after the puck was well gone. The hit sent Cousins immediately to the ice, and resulted in an ensuing fight between Zucker and Gustav Forsling.

The hit is what the NHL is trying to eliminate from the game, so there is little question that the Department of Player Safety will take a look at this.

The hit was bad and was clearly in retaliation to a hit delivered by Cousins just prior. Cousins delivered a questionable hit to Valimaki while he was down along the boards, which made contact with his head. Zucker clearly didn't like that and responded with an even dirtier hit.

We will have to wait and see if the NHL decides to review both hits on the play, which will likely be the case as they will look into the decision-making by Zucker, who will assuredly receive some sort of suspension for his retaliation.
