Today Milan Lucic appeared in public for the first time since his arrest while in court. His court appearance gave some major information on his future.
Lucic Learns His Fate In Court
Today Milan Lucic was arraigned on charges of assault and battery of a family member. Lucic was allegedly involved in a domestic incident involving his wife leading to this arrest. At his arraignment, he was made aware of what the maximum sentence is for his charges two and a half years in jail and a $5,000 fine.

He was also released without bail after the hearing. Lucic remained mostly quiet during this time other than a good morning to the judge and a not guilty plea. With his charges laid out and his not-guilty plea, the next steps can now take place for the 35-year-old.
Lucic Gets Orders From The Judge Ahead Of Next Court Date
After all of that was out of the way a pre-trial hearing was set for January 19th. During the time leading up to the pre-trial Lucic has been prohibited from abusing the alleged victim in this case his wife as well as prohibited from abusing alcohol.
With his next court date set this also set a minimum for his leave of absence from the Bruins as well. While Lucic likely won't return at all this season he absolutely will not be back before that next hearing.
With charges officially filed one has to wonder if the NHL will institute an official suspension or just leave it in the hands of the Bruins for now.
