Today the Boston Bruins got some surprising news as one of their veteran forwards Oskar Steen has left to continue his career in Sweden.

The Boston Bruins are enduring yet another season of significant change with their roster. After losing goalie Linus Ullmark and forward Jake DeBrusk the team is once again saying goodbye to another forward this time Oskar Steen leaves heading to Farjestad BK of the SHL.

With this signing, Oskar Steen ends an NHL career that spanned 4 seasons between the NHL and AHL. In 60 appearances in the NHL, he only put up 8 points. In his 221 NHL games, Oskar Steen was much more of an impact player tallying 116 points.

With Oskar Steen signing long-term in the SHL with Farjestad it is unlikely that we see him return to the NHL. However, if he has overwhelming success in the SHL the NHL could always come knocking and help him get out of his contract.
For now, Oskar Steen will head back home surrounded by friends and family as he continues his professional hockey career.
