Brad Marchand has been a force for the Boston Bruins during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but his season could be over after suffering an injury at the hands of Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett.

Marchand failed to return for the third period after colliding with Bennett near the benches. What seemed to be an innocent collision was made controversial when slowing down the clip, as it appears Bennett deliberately aimed for Marchand's head.

Marchand out long term?

Although Marchand is currently listed as day-to-day, his injury could be more severe than the Bruins are letting on. His abscence would leave a massive hole in a Bruins lineup that has already struggled to score throughout most of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
According to Rich Keefe, a podcast host who happens to cover the Bruins, stated he has sources that tell him that Marchand will be absent for game 4 and game 5, which could potentially be the Bruins final two games.
These reports have not yet been confirmed or denied, but the news should be concerning to Bruins fans nonetheless.
