Now however, the case against him has been dropped as his wife would not testify against him, and with that, his future in the NHL begins to become much, much clearer.
According to a report from WCVB Boston, Milan Lucic desires to return to the league, and will now meet with Commissioner Gary Bettman about a return amidst the Boston Bruins playoff push.
It's unclear at this point whether or not the league will sign off on a return, but with no pending criminal charges against him, there may be no grounds for them to stop a return. According to that report, Lucic's attorneys are confident that the result of the prosecutors dropping his case make it likely for a return, but now it appears the decision rests in the hands of the NHL's Commissioner.
