Despite the belief that his NHL career was over, it appears that may no longer be the case for Boston Bruins veteran forward Milan Lucic.

Case against Milan Lucic officially dropped

After a domestic incident involving Lucic's wife was set to go to court, the belief around the league was that the veteran enforcer's time in the league had come to an end.
Now however, the case against him has been dropped as his wife would not testify against him, and with that, his future in the NHL begins to become much, much clearer.

It's unclear at this point whether or not the league will sign off on a return, but with no pending criminal charges against him, there may be no grounds for them to stop a return. According to that report, Lucic's attorneys are confident that the result of the prosecutors dropping his case make it likely for a return, but now it appears the decision rests in the hands of the NHL's Commissioner.
