This Calgary Flames forward is facing a possible suspension for his hit on a Seattle Kraken defender, as he was ejected from the game immediately after the hit.
Pospisil Ejected For Hit From Behind on Kraken's Dunn
Hits from behind into the boards are one of the most dangerous hits in the game of hockey, as they can have serious impacts on a player's head and neck area. For this reason, it's often the case that referees will be more sensitive to calling penalties when a player is sent head-first into the boards.
During the Kraken versus Flames game, this was exactly the case, after Martin Pospisil delivered a hit from behind on Vincent Dunn of the Seattle Kraken. He was immediately ejected for the hit, since it was right on the numbers of Dunn, and now it is being questioned about whether or not he should be suspended.
That is genuinely the most egregious boarding penalty I've ever seen.
Has to be at least five games, right? Numbers all the way, a solid five seconds to react horrendous.
Clearly, Pospisil had time to react and not deliver the hit on Dunn, as he was showing his back the entire play. This should go into consideration for suspension.
Pospisil Involved in Questionable Hit Earlier in the Game
Pospisil was involved in another questionable hit earlier in the game, when he delivered a hit that sent Larsson of the Kraken head-first into the boards. While the hit was more from the side, many still thought the hit was unnecessary and warranted a penalty, however, it went uncalled.
Ty Kartye went after Martin Pospisil for his huge hit on Larsson in the 1st period 👊
Do you think Pospisil should be suspended for his hit that got him ejected from the game?
