Florida Panthers Veteran Cautions Rangers' Rookie Matt Rempe

After the puck was dumped into the Panthers' zone, fresh call-up Matt Rempe of the Rangers attempted to give Florida Panthers defenseman Gustav Forsling a serious hit. Forsling narrowly avoided him, but it could have been as serious of a collision as it was on Saturday night against Ilya Lybushkin.

Following Forsling's narrow miss, Jonah Gadjovich immediately confronted Rempe. Although it was not an immediate challenge to fight, the seasoned player probably gave the much-discussed New York rookie some warning.

There was never a fight between the two in the game, which is surprising giving Rempe's current run. That might be as a result of Rempe's heavy fighting schedule this past week, or maybe he acted on Gadjovich's warning.

Despite the fact that the game finished 4-2, it was a back-and-forth contest. Will Cuylle, another rookie Ranger, opened the score early in the game. Before Chris Krieder tied the game 2-2 at the end of the second, Sam Rienhart scored two goals in a row. In the third, Ryan Lomberg gave the Panthers the lead with a rather weak goal, and Florida added an empty-net goal shortly after.

The game featured quite a few scrums, with Matthew Tkachuck and Nick Cousins frequently in the middle of them. Between these two clubs, a playoff matchup could be incredible.
