As the summer months continue to pass by, most NHL free agents have either found their homes for next season or are reevaluating their status as NHL players.
Paul Stastny's Status as an NHLer
Stastsny is still available on the free agency market, but recent reports have him potentially on his way out of the NHL.
"I think there's a 90-some % chance that McDavid & Draisaitl are Oilers for a long time"
"I thought I saw Stasny mention somewhere that he's retiring"
"There's rumblings that [Toews isn't playing], but you don't know what the itch is like in Oct/Nov"
Stastny is a second-generation NHLer and the son of a former NHL hall of famer Peter Stastny. Stastny has played in 1145 NHL games, scoring 293 goals and 822 points.
Last season with Carolina, Stastny was able to perform a decent role position, scoring 9 goals and 22 points in 73 games played. However, the 37-year-old only averaged 11:52 of ice time per game, the lowest of his career.
Stastny was originally drafted by Colorado, putting up multiple 70-point seasons in his early career.
