According to reliable NHL insider, Elliotte Friedman, the Hurricanes are considering trading Teuvo Teravainen.
This news is surprising given Teravainen's significant contribution to Carolina over the years. The 28-year-old player is known for his reasonable cap hit for the next two years which adds to the complexity of the situation.

Uncomplicated Cap Dump?

When questioned if this move would be to regain assets or simply a cap dump, the author of the above-mentioned Tweet responded.
This approach by Carolina is perplexing as Teravainen, a top-six piece, could undoubtedly fetch valuable assets in return.
