Gary Bettman spoke with the media recently and as part of his media availability addressed Corey Perry and his situation. According to Bettman, the NHL will not be doing any further investigation into the matter.
Bettman says he is comfortable with results of Blackhawks investigation into Corey Perry, has not determined if the player will need to have a conversation/hearing with him to return

This means that Perry will not have to undergo further investigative scrutiny from the league. However, it does not mean that Perry can just walk right back on to a team according to Bettman.
Bettman Lays Out The Potential Future For Perry
While the NHL will not investigate further Bettman does say he could be a part of the reinstatement process for Perry if and when he decides to come back. Bettman says he is still considering meeting with Perry before allowing him back.
Gary Bettman says he hasn't determined if Corey Perry will need to have a conversation with him if he wishes to resume his NHL career at some point.
Depending on how soon Perry is looking to come back a meeting with Bettman could be in his future. If Perry does indeed decide to return a meeting with Bettman could be our first indication of this.
At this time that is not imminent as Perry is off dealing with the issues that led to his release in the first place.
