While the present for the Blackhawks doesn't look promising, their future is incredibly bright, but in their latest pre-season game, the future took a massive hit.
Unfortunately, with nine minutes of ice time under his belt, Savoie took a nasty spill into the boards, causing him to be carted off the ice, with many fearing it was a season ending injury.
It appears as though those fears have now been realized, as the team confirmed Savoie has now successfully undergone surgery to repair his right femur, which could leave him out for most, if not all of the 2023-24 season.
In 60 games a year ago in the QMJHL, Savoie tallied 26 goals and 59 points, and while an injury like this could take a long time to recover from, he's shown enough potential for Blackhawks fans to be very excited about his return.
