Jonathan Toews' Next Steps Revealed and Retirement Seems Unlikely
The Chicago Blackhawks dropped a bombshell today regarding their captain, Jonathan Toews.
The long-standing rumors have been put to rest: Jonathan Toews is set to play his last game as a Blackhawk tonight. However, this doesn't necessarily mean the end of his career.
According to Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic, there's a possibility we'll see Toews in action next season.
Toews May Not Hang Up His Skates Just Yet

"Toews intends to take some time post-season to evaluate how he feels, and so on. If a Cup-contending team reaches out on July 1, will that pique his interest? Or will he decide to call it a day after an incredible career? The verdict is still out."
Toews' health is a significant factor at this juncture. He has sat out numerous games in recent seasons due to illness. Any team potentially interested in signing him will likely wait for reassurance that he can withstand the demands of an 82-game season.
