Patrick Kane recently revealed that he was disappointed in the Chicago Blackhawks and how they did not want to bring him back in free agency.
Patrick Kane Reveals How He Hoped to Return to Chicago
With Patrick Kane's announcement regarding his signing in Detroit, the speculation on where he will play is now over. However, he recently revealed that he had hoped the Chicago Blackhawks, not previously expected to be in the running, would be interested in a reunion, given their need for veterans to play with Bedard.
"Especially after that first pick, I was like, ‘OK, maybe they'll try to bring, even like [Jonathan Toews] or myself back.' I know when I was a young guy, it really helped having some older guys around like Robert Lang, (Martin) Havlat, Yanick Perrault and Patrick Lalime, guys like that. Obviously, we had some young guys coming up that were pretty special players, and that made it pretty easy on me, too. It seemed like they wanted to go in a direction where they were going to bring in some different type of veterans." - Patrick Kane

Kane's disappointment is understandable, as he has a special place in his heart for Chicago given his tremendous career there.
Even Bedard Thinks it is Wierd Not Seeing Kane in a Chicago Jersey
Connor Bedard and Kane would have been an electric duo to watch. While this is obviously not happening, Bedard did comment on how he thinks it is weird to see Kane in another jersey other than Chicagos.
