Daniel Briere's son, Carson, appears to believe that his father's status as an NHL general manager gives him the right to act with impunity. However, his recent behaviour has demonstrated a complete lack of maturity.
Currently a junior at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania, Carson was captured on security footage pushing an unoccupied wheelchair down a flight of stairs at what appears to be a club. While some may argue over the presence and location of the wheelchair, neither of these factors excuse the disrespectful actions exhibited by Carson.
Twitter user @juliazukowski, who originally shared the video, provided context about why the wheelchair was left at the top of the stairs.
However, regardless of the circumstances, someone with Carson's status as a university hockey team member and the son of an NHL executive should display more respect and class than what was seen in the video.
This type of behaviour is unacceptable, regardless of how much alcohol was involved or whether it was meant to be a joke. It remains to be seen what consequences Carson will face as a result of this incident.
