It's been a rollercoaster ride for Connor Bedard, the superstar rookie and Calder Trophy favorite. The Blackhawks 18 year old phenom has been through the wringer lately. In the latest episode of his eventful journey, Bedard found himself in the midst of a scuffle drama during the Chicago Blackhawks' 5-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jacket on Saturday.

Controversy Erupts As Bedard Shoved

Mathieu Olivier gave Bedard a hefty shove, sending him crashing into Erik Gudbranson right as Chicago's Ryan Donato scored.
Earlier in the week, during a game against the Colorado Avalanche, Bedard took a nasty stick hit to the arm courtesy of Josh Manson. It seems like Bedard just can't catch a break lately.
Being one of the youngest stars in the league, it's no surprise that Bedard's drawing extra attention from opponents. They see his talent and potential, but they also see his age as a vulnerability. And unfortunately, that means he's getting targeted with aggressive play.
Yet let's not count Bedard out just yet. The kid has resilience in spades, and if anyone can bounce back from a rough patch like this, it's him. So, here's to hoping Bedard can shake off these hits, keep his head up, and continue to show the league what he's made of.
