The Colorado Avalanche were recently rocked with more terrible injury news, and now, it appears the Toronto Maple Leafs could become their perfect trade partner.
A deal waiting to happen
Recently, Pavel Francouz was announced to be on the injured list ahead of the 2023-24 season, and while he's not expected to miss the entire season, his absence will be noticed.
In net, the Avalanche now have just Alexandar Georgiev to start the year, and with the Maple Leafs depth at the position, a potential deal between the two just makes sense.
Which goaltender goes?
In their recent piece, Leafs Nation have drawn the link between the two, and unsurprisingly, it is Martin Jones who could be on the way out if the two sides begin discussing a deal.
Jones, coming off a wild season in Seattle with a 27-13-3 record, an .887 save percentage and a 2.95 GAA was always a depth signing for Toronto, and if both Joseph Woll and Ilya Samsonov start training camp well, a deal here makes sense, and could be the best option for both teams.
