After not coaching a single game in Columbus, the Blue Jackets and Mike Babcock officially parted ways, and while the details we already knew painted him in a poor light, the latest update is even worse.

'Lunch' meetings

The main issue behind Babcock's short tenure in Columbus was his dealings with young players, as he would reportedly go through their phones in order to gain leverage over them and make them feel intimidated.
Now, according to Paul Bissonette and the Spittin Chiclets podcast, the details are even worse, as he reportedly invited young players to his house for lunch before going through their phones and sending them home, without lunch being served.

More wild stories

While that seems bad enough, other stories have now emerged from young players, as Babcock once approached a player yet to make his NHL debut on the bench, asking him "this is pretty amazing isn't it?"
The player then agreed before Babcock stunningly told him "soak it in, it's the last time you'll ever be on an NHL bench", and now, the only question left to ask is, how did Columbus think this was a good idea?
None of these stories have officially been confirmed, but given how right Biz and the Chiclets podcast were on everything so far, it's hard to deny that this makes sense, and will likely signal the end of the career of Babcock behind an NHL bench.
