The Detroit Red Wings suffered a difficult injury loss as newly acquired Patrick Kane will not return

Red Wings Lose Kane Vs Leafs

The Detroit Red Wings have announced Forward Patrick Kane will not return to tonight's game vs the Toronto Maple Leafs with what is reported as a lower-body injury.
Kane left Detroit's game vs Toronto late in the first period after colliding twice with Leafs Forward Pontus Holmberg in two separate incidents. Kane continued his shift after the second hit, but left for the dressing room shortly after, and did not return.
Kane, who recently signed a one-year deal with Detroit after missing the start of the season to undergo resurfacing surgery on his right hip, has 7 Goals and 16 Points on the season in 18 games since signing for the Red Wings.
Detroit is 6-3-1 in their last 10 games with a 21-16-5 record on the season, 5th in the Atlantic Division, and one point out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture behind the New York Islanders for the final spot.
