Brandon Sutter Retires After 13 Seasons in the NHL
In a statement released by the Edmonton Oilers, Brandon Sutter has retired from the NHL after failing to make the Oilers during his professional tryout. He had the following to say about his NHL career and his retirement.
I'm grateful for the opportunity that Ken, Jay and the Oilers organization have provided to me the past few weeks. You need to be 100 percent healthy to compete in the NHL, and although my health continues to improve, in consideration of my health and family, I am officially retiring from hockey.
The #Oilers have released Brandon Sutter from his professional tryout (PTO) & the veteran forward has announced his retirement from hockey.
Sutter had a long NHL career, playing in 770 games. He scored 152 goals and 289 career points. Sutter spent most of his career with the Canucks, but also had stints with the Penguins and the Hurricanes.
