The numbers back this up as the main problem with the Oilers so far has been their goaltending and it is not even close.
Stuart Skinner has apparently been 'better' has he's gotten six games to Campbell's four, but his numbers are horrendous. Skinner, coming off a Calder-finalist season, currently has a 1-3-1 record, a 3.62 goals-against-average and a .861 save percentage. Those numbers, aside from the record, may have been decent in 1979 but its 2023. While scoring is up compared to previous years, those numbers are still unacceptably bad.
Jack Campbell has been even worse with a 1-4 record, a 4.50 goals-against-average and an .873 save percentage.
