Evander Kane has been a name on the hot seat in Edmonton, and now two Pacific Division teams are keeping a close eye on his situation.
The Edmonton Oilers fell agonizingly short of the Stanley Cup in 2024, and with the roster loaded up for another run, they are optimistic that they can take the final step in 2025. However, there are a few hurdles to getting that done, and after rumours emerged of Evander Kane's locker room behaviour, it's become clear that the team would love the opportunity to move on from the forward.
Now, one report has emerged that has revealed the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings are both interested parties in a trade for Kane, who has been fantastic when he's on the ice for the Oilers over the past two years.
However, this situation becomes complicated due to his no-movement clause, and with both of those situations being much less appealing than Edmonton, it's safe to say that he won't be in a hurry to waive that NMC. Sure, in both of those situations he'd have a much bigger role, but with the chance to play alongside Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, very few players would chose to leave.
The situation could change in the coming weeks and months though, so keep a close eye on one of many stories as the Oilers approach one of their most important training camps in history.
