The Edmonton Oilers, like most Canadian teams face their fair share of disrespect, but on Wednesday it came in a strange way at the hands of veteran Ron MacLean.
The Edmonton Oilers picked up a massive victory in game four against the Dallas Stars, but on Hockey Night in Canada, we all witnessed a major act of disrespect from veteran Ron MacLean. While it didn't seem like much at the time, hockey fans didn't take too kindly to his act of disrespect, as MacLean went to place an Oilers jersey on the floor, a big no-no for hockey players and fans.
To casual viewers this may not seem like much, but hockey tradition dictates that this is something you simply don't do, shown by former NHLer Bieksa's immediate reaction to the act. Years ago, MacLean was part of a duo with the controversial Don Cherry that brought him to relevance, but now he's just not at the same level, and after yet another act like this, fans are simply done with him as an analyst, and it may not be far off until the networks feel the same way.
