It's being reported that Florida Panthers captain and Selke Winner Aleksander Barkov may have suffered a broken jaw after a hit by Edmonton Oilers' Leon Draisaitl.
With the Oilers trailing late in the game, Draisaitl delivered a questionable hit, leaving his feet and striking Barkov in the face with his arm.
Draisaitl received a minor penalty for the hit but could face further discipline if the league reviews the play. After the hit, Barkov left the ice with trainers and did not return for the rest of the game.
Initially, many thought Barkov stayed in the locker room as a precaution. However, new reports suggest he may have suffered a serious injury that could keep him out for the remainder of the series.
