The Los Angeles Kings have lost some depth in net this summer, and now they've replaced that with an intriguing former Maple Leafs prospect.

The 2023/24 season ended in disappointing fashion for the Kings, and after several years of first round losses to the Edmonton Oilers, now they're looking to change things up. This off-season has been off to a disappointing start however, but now they've added goaltending depth after losing veteran goaltender Cam Talbot in free agency.
✍️ A new keeper in the crease! We've signed goaltender Dryden McKay for the 2024-25 season!
According to their social media release, the team have landed former Hobey Baker winner Dryden McKay, who will land with the AHL's Ontario Reign as a significant depth pickup. McKay played just two games with the Toronto Marlies a year ago, spending most of his time in the ECHL, but at 26-years of age, it appears the Kings believe he's ready to take the step to the AHL, with the NHL an eventual goal for him.
This does little to improve the Kings at the NHL level, but depth, especially in net is a good thing, so don't be surprised to see him at the top level some time in the next year if an injury strikes in LA.
