With the likes of Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield leading the way, the Montreal Canadiens are building a solid core, and on Thursday, they've surprisingly made a solid deal with Buffalo.

Montreal acquire Filip Cederqvist from Buffalo

While he's certainly not one of the Sabres most coveted prospects, but on Thursday, the Canadiens officially acquired 23-year old prospect Filip Cederqvist from their division rival.

The Swedish winger was a fifth-round pick of Buffalo back in the 2019 NHL Draft, and while his career hasn't progressed as quickly as some expected, he has shown potential.
In 74 games with the Rochester Americans of the AHL, Cederqvist has tallied 10 goals and 24 points, and at 23-years old he may not reach the heights that he potentially showed before the draft, but he could still end up being a solid bottom-six winger for Montreal one day.
