After a solid campaign in Nashville, veteran defenseman Ryan McDonagh is on the move again, and this time it's back to a former team.

The off-season truly hasn't begun yet, but that hasn't stopped the Tampa Bay Lightning making a huge trade, as they've now officially acquired defenseman Ryan McDonagh once again.
TRADE ALERT: #GoBolts acquire Ryan McDonagh and a 2024 4th round pick (EDM) from #Preds for a 2025 2nd round pick and 2024 7th.
This one has come out of nowhere, but after tallying the most points in a season since 2018 with Tampa Bay (32), McDonagh was clearly in need of a new home, and his former team still saw him as a major fit.
In doing so Tampa Bay also acquired a fourth-round pick, while giving up a second and a seventh, so while only time will tell whether or not this is a fair return for both teams, as of right now, it looks like a solid deal for both squads.
