Artemi Panarin was not the Rangers' representative selected to the NHL All-Star game for 2024. Fans and media members alike were were flabbergasted by that. Panarin is currently tied for third in goals, tied for third in points, and is tied for 13th in assists in the NHL.
Artemi Panarin Clears Things Up on the All Star Game Selection
Social media went wild when Rangers fans saw that Panarin had not been voted in. The goalie, Igor Shesterkin, was voted in instead, even though he hasn't played well this season.
In a statement posted on Rangers Twitter, Panarin gave an explanation for his decision to skip the all-star game and stated that he will not be penalized by the NHL for a single game as a result.

It was not some conspiracy or a snub as to why Panarin was not sent to the All-Star game for the New York Rangers.

Hard to call it an All-star game when ten of the top-20 scorers in the NHL aren't on the initial roster. (Panarin, Nylander, Miller, Rantanen, Pettersson, Makar, Draisaitl, Bratt, Guentzel and Point). Make it a true all-star game and have the best players. #NHL
Gregor has a point, but let's face it — if you ever watch the all-star game, it's really boring. These new lineups are smaller since the NHL went to 3-on-3. The main goal of the game is to make attendees and children happy though.
