New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba delivered a high elbow to the head area of Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues late in the second period on Sunday.

It was originally called a major penalty, but upon review was downgraded to a minor penalty.
Former NHLer and ESPN analyst PK Subban gave his take on Trouba's penalty saying it should've been a major.
You have your arm extended like that, the elbow is out from the start. Where is this a hockey play? There's no shoulder involved. Don't tell me he hit him in the neck. This is a straight elbow to the chin. I'm not gonna harp on it too long.
That's a major and, to me that was a missed call
However, not everyone agreed with him. Hall of fame journalist Larry Brooks chimed in.
I can tell you that it was for a better reason than you were able to avoid being called for majors on your litany of slewfoots.
Former NHL referee Tim Peel also weighed in.
This is not a major penalty! The officials and the Situation Room got this correct. Also I feel Evan Rodriques embellishes this as well.
The Rangers won 5-4 in overtime on a goal by Alex Wennberg and have a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference final.
