Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Lindholm's wife may have revealed a decision on his free agency decision many weeks ahead of the July 1st opening.

Elias Lindholm was dealt to the Canucks by the Calgary Flames in a package that included Andrei Kuzmenko during the 2023-2024 season, and struggled to produce in the regular season, posting just 12 points in 26 games. However, Lindholm ramped up his production significantly in the playoffs, tallying an impressive 10 points in 13 games.
Lindholm is set to become a UFA on July 1st, and the Canucks hopes of signing him may have been dashed after a post appeared on his wife Annica's Instagram story that raised some questions about his future in Vancouver.
She then answered a comment on another post when a user questioned why they couldn't remain in Vancouver, stating that the family's situation was «different» because of Lindholm's looming free agency decision.
Based on her story and her reply, it appears that Elias Lindholm will be testing the market come July 1st.
After his resurgence in production in the playoffs, many teams will be vying for the 29-year-olds services, potentially the Boston Bruins being the top suitor as they attempted to trade for Lindholm prior to his trade to Vancouver.
Another suitor may be Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Treliving was the man who brought Lindholm to Calgary in the first place, and with the Leafs having a new look coach, it may be the perfect opportunity to bring in a fresh look for the offence.
