A new segment with NHL analyst Craig Button has revealed that he believes Craig Berube is destined for a similar fate to Sheldon Keefe unless major changes are made.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been one of the best regular season teams in the NHL for the last several season. Despite this they have faltered in the playoffs several times. This led to Sheldon Keefe being fired as head coach and being replaced by Craig Berube.
Brad Treliving introduces Craig Berube as the 32nd head coach in Toronto Maple Leafs history.
Since the hiring of Craig Berube was made official by Brad Treliving the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. However, today a reaction from Craig Button has placed some skepticism on whether Craig Berube will be able to be any more successful than Sheldon Keefe.
"Until they get roster balance, Craig Berube is gonna run into the same coaching problems Sheldon Keefe did"
Roster balance is a problem that has been talked about for years when it comes to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The big four forwards take up a lot fo the salary cap space. This means that defensively and in goal the Maple Leafs are not nearly as strong. If these positions continue to lack overall talent due to lack of resources new systems might not be enough to fix the problem.
Brad Treliving, Craig Berube and the Toronto Maple Leafs have an entire offseason to tinker with and fix the roster. Rumors of Mitch Marner being moved to a new team could bring about the changes that Craig Button believes are necessary.
However, if the Maple Leafs enter another season with the roster so offensively skewed it could end badly.
