Claude Giroux has been one of the most overlooked players in the NHL of this generation, but even after his move to Ottawa, the veteran forward continues to thrive in less than stellar circumstances. In his two seasons with the Senators, Giroux has thrived statistically, but is yet to help the team reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and if things go that way again in 2025, he could be a potential trade chip.
According to The Hockey News, one team that would be interested is his former team the Philadelphia Flyers, who appear ready to take the next step back towards the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
There are obviously plenty of things that will need to go right or wrong to make this happen, as neither, both or just one of these teams could live up to expectations early in the season, but it's one to keep an eye on.
At 36-years of age, Giroux may not have many shots at the Stanley Cup left, and with Ottawa looking to do right by him, if things don't work out, expect him to be part of a big selling process that may include goaltender Linus Ullmark.
