During an OHL game between the North Bay Battalion and the Sudbury Wolves, a major incident occured.
Ty Nelson, a third-round pick by the Seattle Kraken in 2022, was knocked down by his opponent after exchanging punches. Nelson lost his helmet during the fight and hit his head on the ice after he fell.
You want watch the whole scene in the following video:
"Scary scene in Sudbury tonight as #SeaKraken prospect Ty Nelson gets in a fight and smokes his head off the ice. He was clearly dazed after and obviously did not return for the 3rd period. North Bay would lose in OT, getting swept in the huge home and home vs Sudbury #OHL"

Typically, in junior hockey fights, referees step in when players lose their helmets to prevent such incidents.
On social media, hockey fans have been vocal about the referee's response:
Do you think the referee should take the blame for the incident?
