Sergachev Takes Temporary Leave for the Birth of His Child
In a recent tweet, the Tampa Bay Lightning confirmed that Sergachev would be stepping away from the team to be present for the birth of his child.
Sergachev has been a vital component in the Lightning's success this season. In 77 games, he has tallied 9 goals and 51 assists, totaling 60 points, which places him at the top of the Bolts' scoring chart for defensemen, 14 points in front of Victor Hedman.
While Sergachev's absence will undoubtedly be felt by the team, fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that he is expected to return in time for the playoffs. The Lightning will certainly benefit from having their top-scoring defenseman back on the ice as they chase another championship.
