The Tampa Bay Lightning have done plenty of good in their community, but on Monday, they announced the tragic passing of a beloved member of their community.

Sports has the power to do so much good for people all around the world, and one time we see that is with teams bringing in young, ill fans that can join their favourite team and even for a moment, live out their biggest dreams. One example of that is Tripp Nugent of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who touched the lives and hearts of so many in Tampa Bay, including coach Jon Cooper, who opened up on the impact the young kid made on this team.
"For him not to be around us anymore, it's gut-wrenching. It's heartbreaking," admitted Cooper. "I can see him like he's right here. When he left us, he was wearing a Stammer shirt listening to Thunderstruck, if that doesn't say it all. What a magnificent little boy he was. The heart's a little weaker today for sure."
Unfortunately, the team have now announced the tragic passing of Nugent via social media, to the outpouring of love and condolences to someone that clearly made a massive impact on the community and the team.
Nugent was clearly a bright spark in the lives of anyone he met, and we send out heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers to his family, friends, the Tampa Bay Lightning family and anyone that was lucky enough to be in his presence.
