Last night Auston Matthews was ejected from the Toronto Maple Leafs game against the Buffalo Sabres. Today it was discovered that he tried to argue his way out of the ejection with the referees.
In the dying second of last night's game between the Buffalo Sabres and Toronto Maple Leafs, chaos broke loose. Maple Leafs defenseman TJ Brodie was skating with the puck in the corner. Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin came in and tripped him. As TJ Brodie was falling Buffalo Sabres forward Alex Tuch came in and hit him. Several Maple Leafs players took exception to the hit and a brawl began.
After the referees separated everyone on the ice they then had to hand out penalties. They decided to give all the skaters on the ice a 10-minute misconduct which essentially served as an ejection. This included Toronto Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews who we would come to find out later would try and argue the call.

As the referees were communicating the penalties to the players Auston Matthews was not happy. A slow-motion video was found of Auston Matthews talking to the referees and arguing that not all five players deserved the misconduct.
