BREAKING: Sheldon Keefe Makes Major Changes Ahead of McDavid Showdown

The Leafs head coach has been criticized for some of his lineup choices in recent games, particularly the last game where all the forward lines were put in a blender. Today it seems that the coach is largely reverting back to familiar lines with some notable differences.

Rookie Pontus Holmberg has seemingly impressed the coach as he remains on the top line with Matthews and Marner. The other lines were more or less put back together with pairings that we have seen before this season. Notably though, Tyler Bertuzzi has been taken out of the top-six in favor of Matthew Knies, a seemingly odd move considering how Knies played against Detroit. Martin Jones will also get the start in place of Ilya Samsonov, who played well in his last start, but is still readjusting to the NHL.

We will just have to wait and see if these moved make the difference for the Leafs tonight. For many it will feel like trying the same thing over and over again but perhaps this latest iteration of the Leafs lineup can get the job done.
