Recently Drake announced dates for his upcoming tour. This news has forced the Leafs to change their schedule for the 2023-24 season.

Leafs Game Rescheduled

Today it was announced that the Toronto Maple Leafs have rescheduled their preseason game against the Detroit Red Wings. The game was originally scheduled for Friday, October 6th but will instead take place a day earlier on Thursday, October 5th.
Our Pre-season game against the Red Wings on Friday, October 6 has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 5 at 7pm ET

Drake Comes To Town

While the reasons were not originally known for the movement of the game a tweet from Scotiabank Arena confirmed it is due to Drake performing at the arena.

Scotiabank Arena announced today a change to the venue's event schedule on Thursday, October 5, 2023 and Friday, October 6, 2023.

While not many things can overtake Scotiabank Arena from the Leafs Canadian rapper Drake is certainly one of them. The first week in October is now surely going to be a busy one in Toronto with the Leafs and Drake back to back.
