A new post on social media by a former NHL All-Star has let it slip where Corey Perry might sign for the rest of this NHL season. The team in question could use Perry's mix of skill and toughness in their lineup.

Former All-Star Reveals Where Perry Will Play Next

In the last few days speculation on who is interested in Corey Perry has built with every mention of the situation. A new post on X by former NHL All-Star John Scott has added an interesting team into the mix.
Scott added his hat into the ring of speculation and predicts that Perry will head back to the Eastern Conference and sign with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Where do you see Corey Perry signing?

Toronto makes a lot of sense to me.
To this point, the Toronto Maple Leafs had not been mentioned as a team that had reached out to Perry. However, we are still very early in the process. If the Maple Leafs do pursue Perry it could be a perfect fit.

Perry A Perfect Fit In Toronto?

General Manager Brad Treliving took over the Maple Leafs this offseason. One of his first acts as General Manager was to put his stamp on the team improving team toughness.
Treliving did this by signing players like Tyler Bertuzzi, Max Domi, and Ryan Reaves. In doing so he did add to the toughness but the scoring has not come as much as fans and the team had hoped.
This season on a Chicago Blackhawks team that struggled to produce offense Corey Perry had 9 points in 16 games. If the Maple Leafs were to land him he could likely produce even better on the right line. This would add a big boost to the Maple Leafs lineup with little given up other than salary.
The Maple Leafs would need to first make sure the off-ice concerns with Perry were not anything serious. If their investigations bring back nothing serious the Maple Leafs should seriously consider bringing Perry to Toronto.
